8:15… are you ready for three weeks of intense lectures? Let’s go for our trip into a green energy buildings!
The “Green.Building.Solutions.” first day of lectures began with a meeting in the main lobby of our OeAD Passive House, in Molkereistrasse.
|Some notes about Vienna’s urban lakeside
Arriving at the BOKU, we started with a very
interesting lecture with Peter Hinterkörner about
Vienna’s urban lakeside. He described the project, values and principles of
sustainable urban development, with 3 fields of action:
1. Urban design
3. Uses of resources
Here is a web link: www.aspern-seestadt.at
Then we talked about some economic aspects of buildings, with Professor Gunther Maier. He started with 3 important conceptual elements:
3. Building and real estate foundamental value: LOCATION!
They are all related and
influencing each other.

Then we had a very good news from Professor Martin Treberspurg: in the
afternoon we would go to visit a newly completed Passive House residential
building, in Vorgartenstrasse. It was very easy
getting there… with Trond’s car and his navigator!

The weather wasn’t so good… but we
quickly went inside, visiting at first the
Kindergarten… here we could immediately see some particular details, which are
typical of the Passive House.

After a long trip, our visitors
needed a nice happy lunch-dinner at 4 p.m. in a typical Austrian Wirtshaus, near our Passive House… here just a picture! The
cordon bleu was very good!
And in the evening… a wonderful
waltzing night: it was amazing and everyone enjoyed this cultural event, from
Austrian tradition! And for a dancer like me… it was fantastic!
At the end we learnt a short
choreography, which you can see into the video (uploaded in Dropbox,
GBS_Vienna Students Folder Dance).

And that’s all!
For the first day!
